Surveillance Program

Annual Proactive Surveillance Program

Thank you for being a valued part of the Vibration Institute’s Vibration Analyst Certification Program.

As of January 1, 2015, the Proactive Surveillance Program (PSP) has been discontinued, and in its place a recertification fee ($250 U.S. / $300 International) will be required to accompany the submission of your recertification application upon expiration of your current certificate. All certifications are valid for five years from the issue date.

The Proactive Surveillance Program was developed to meet the requirements of ISO 17024. Shortly after the implementation of the program, a new version of the standard was released that made Proactive Surveillance optional. Effective Jan. 1, 2015 the program has been replaced by a simplified recertification fee. Upon submission of your recertification, your application fee may be reduced if you participate in the Vibration Institute’s optional PSP over the past five years. Please contact the Vibration Institute headquarters to see if you qualify for reduced fees. If your application is denied, you may apply 50% of the application fee toward an examination to reinstate your certification, if the exam is taken within one calendar year of the expiration of your current certification.

Re-certification can be achieved by one of two ways:

Renewal

Providing evidence of work experience and ongoing professional development in vibration-related and companion technologies as defined in the application. Points for renewal can be earned for your education in the study of machine vibration, including work experience, professional development, attending industry, association, or Chapter meetings, and vibration-related presentations or published articles.

Re-examination

You may take the certification exam at the level you are currently certified. This requires scheduling an examination and securing a proctor per established Vibration Institute protocol.
