The long-awaited Vibration Analysis: Summary of Common Formulae file is posted on the Vibration Institute’s Helpful Equations webpage, https://www.vi-institute.org/vibration-analyst-equation/ as the Category IV equation sheet. US Customary and SI unit constants and formulae are provided in a two-column format.
For now, the Summary file is in English, and its contents are in the Institute’s Category IV certification examinations (only). Once it is translated into Spanish and Portuguese, the Summary file will become part of all certification examinations in descending category order (Category III, then II, then I).
Thank you to everyone who shared comments, corrections, and suggestions for draft Summary file improvement earlier in 2024. The VI Certification Committee thoroughly considered every input and incorporated numerous related changes. Beyond certification exams, we hope the Summary of Common Formulae will be a useful resource for all vibration analysts.
