If you’re unsure what accreditation is, or why it’s important, I urge you to visit our website to learn more at: https://www.vi-institute.org/anab-accreditation/
I also encourage you to visit the ANAB website as well: https://anab.ansi.org/
I had the pleasure of attending ANAB’s Client Day and Credentialing Conference in September 2022. I’d like to share some of the takeaways, as there are many of them.
-
- We must know the standard. We are accredited to ISO/IEC 17024, and all staff involved in the certification process at VI should be familiar with this standard.
-
- Top Management Commitment: Our Leadership sets the tone and values our accreditation.
-
- The work we do matters
-
- Maintaining our accreditation is a teamwork process – we work with our assessors from ANAB as a team.
-
- Documentation is key – if you didn’t document it, it didn’t happen
-
- Personnel to be evaluated on a regular basis and have a professional development training plan. All VI staff are evaluated on a regular basis and have a training plan for professional development.
-
- Constantly look for ways to improve what we’re doing when it comes to accreditation
-
- Stay focused – talk to resources, celebrate victories, take mental breaks, recognize what has been accomplished and what needs to be done throughout and after our work with ANAB takes place
-
- Focus on learning and growing
