Let me help you out….

December 3, 2022

Accreditation, ANAB, certification, learning, membership, training, vibration

These aren’t exactly FAQs, but in monitoring our information email box for a number of years now, we do get a lot of different inquiries and trends on some of them. If anything, you may just learn a thing or two reading through this blog post! That is my intention, anyway.

Looking for Vibration Terminology? The terminology provided here is typical of that used in Vibration Institute Training Courses. If you feel there is room for improvement, please share your constructive thoughts with the us at information@vi-institute.org. All feedback will be reviewed and definitions updated or revised periodically.

What is accreditation and why is it important? The Vibration Institute is accredited by ANAB. If you’re unsure what accreditation is, or why it’s important, I urge you to visit our website to learn more at: https://www.vi-institute.org/anab-accreditation/ I also encourage you to visit the ANAB website as well: https://anab.ansi.org/

I don’t live in the US, please help me with training information….If you are NOT a resident of the United States, our office cannot provide you with training information. That is handled by our International Representatives. You may find a listing HERE. Please look for your area to inquire about Vibration Institute Training and Certification exams. At this time, we are not accepting NEW International Representatives, but I encourage you to check that website for updates.

I’m certified through the Vibration Institute, doesn’t that mean I’m a member? Certification and Membership are entirely different. If you are Certified CAT I – CAT IV with us, Congratulations! Your Certification is good for 5 years, and you can learn more about recertifying at: https://www.vi-institute.org/recertification/

You can absolutely be certified AND a member, in fact we encourage you to join our professional organization! If you find you’re not getting discounts when making purchases, it may be because you’re not making a purchase through our portal: https://vi-institute.member365.org/ your membership has lapsed, or you are not a member. To learn more about membership at VI, please click HERE. All are welcome and encouraged to join!

Want to learn more about our Training Program? This page HERE will provide you with our Instructor bios, our brochure to download in Pdf which as been recently updated, as well as training course student testimonials. If you would like information on specific courses, please check the dropdown on our homepage under “Vibration Analysis Training Courses”. Each course has it’s own page, and dates when we will be offering it in person.

I don’t want to get certified at the CAT I level, I’d just like to learn more about Vibration…. If you’re in sales, marketing, admin staff, etc. You’re in luck! We recently launched our Vibration Analysis Overview (VAO) course which is a 1-Day in person course. I tend to call this course “Vibration Analysis for the Non-Vibration Analyst”. My goal is to take this course myself this coming year, and have all of my office staff complete the course as well so we can level up on the vibration lingo we hear day to day! Learn more about this course HERE.

Is the Houston Chapter doing any programming? We have all of our CURRENT Chapters on our Chapters page HERE. If you don’t see a chapter that was previously active, this means that chapter has become inactive and no longer a part of the Vibration Institute. If you are looking to start a chapter, please email us at information@vi-institute.org and we’ll be happy to provide you with instructions.

Where would I find an exam application or other forms? We have a FORMS PAGE with all updated and current exam forms. Certification forms should be submitted to vicertification@vi-institute.org

Where can I order a VI polo? Or polar paper? What about a paper copy of my training course certificate? That would be our Online Store!

Here are the best resources for certification you can find out our website:
